RTD an acronym for resistance temperature detector or device. A resistance temperature detector operates on the principle of the change in electrical resistance in wire as a function of temperature. Due to the need in industry for greater accuracy and stability, the resistance thermometer (RTD) is becoming more widely used. The platinum RTD having a nominal resistance of 100 ohms at 0°C and a temperature coefficient of 0.00385 is emerging as a world standard.THE MOST COMMONLY USED MATERIALS ARE Platinum (most popular and accurate), Nickel & Copper. The RTD ELEMENTS used in HK RTD assemblies conform to IEC 751-1983 and in standard form are supplied to class ‘B' tolerance. Other tolerances of class ‘A', 1/3 & 1/10 DIN are available on request. Also available are Nickel 100, 120 ohm and Platinum 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 ohms Cu 53, 2000 ARE AVAILABLE .

RTD ELEMENTS

Sensing Portion of RTD ELEMENT can be made comminly for Platinum,Copper or NICKEL.RTD ELEMENTS are of Two types : Thin Film Element and Wire Wound Element.

	A) THIN FILM RTD'S are made up of a thin layer of a base metal embedded into a ceramic substrate and trimmed to produce the desired resistance value. OUR RTD's are made by depositing platinum as a film on a substrate and then encapsulating both. This method allows for the production of small, fast response, accurate sensors. Thin film elements conform to the European curve/DIN 43760 standards.

	B) WIRE WOUND ELEMENTS are made of alpha grade platinum wire. Wire is wound on a mandrel to make coil and inserted In a ceramic tube and hermetically sealed within glass capsule.

Depending upon the customer accuracy requirement we can supply the RTD Elements classified according to its accuracy as :

CLASS A RTD - For a Class A sensor the following relationship applies where �T� is the absolute temperature: rT=±(0.15+0.002 * t) For t =75 0C, the tolerance is therefore: rT=±(0.15+0.002 * 75)=±0.30C.

CLASS B RTD - For a Class B sensor the following relationship applies: rT= ±(0.3+0.005 * t). In the above example the deviation is therefore: rT= ±(0.3 + 0.005 * 75) = ±0.675 0C

CLASS 2B RTD - For a Class 2B sensor the following relationship applies: rT= ±(0.6+0.01 * t).
The commanly used PT100 Element in HK SENSORS Meeting the IEC 751-1983 standards (Alpha 0.003850) their tolerances can be classified as : Class A : ± 0.15 °C Class B : ± 0.3 °C 1/3 DIN : ± 0.10°C 1/10 DIN : ±0.03°C

BAYONET RTD

These RTD'S are available in straight or 90 DEG bent assemblies and bayonet adjustable (variable sensing stem) on spring type. Used to detect temperatures in air, liquids, gases, and solids in a variety of process control applications.HK BAYONET RTD'S HAVE A Temperature Range OF -50 to 250C (-58 to 482F),these are enclosed in stainless steel(SS 316/SS 304/TITANIUM),with 3 core lead wire(Teflon/Teflon or teflon fibre SS),termination or connection.

BOLT - ON RTD

These are majorly used to detect temperatures in various process control applications. HK Bolt - On RTD'S are mainly used for temperature range OF � 50 deg. C TO 250 deg. C (Unless until specified by the client). They are made of threaded bolt (fixed or movable on the sensing stem) and with 3 core lead wire (Teflon / Teflon or Teflon fibre SS), Termination or Connection.

MINIATURE CAPSULE RTD

	Used to detect temperature in small places. HK Miniature Capsule RTD'S recommended for temperature range of -50 deg. C to 250 deg. C. These are encapsulated in stainless steel sheath (SS 316 / 304) and a two core teflon / teflon wire.

IMMERSION RTD(TRANSITION TYPE)

Used to detect temperatures in air, liquids, gases, and solids in a variety of process control pplications. HK Immersion RTD'S are these are enclosed in stainless steel(SS 316/SS 304/Titanium/teflon coated SS Sheath), Recommended for temperature ranges as specified below :

• Moderate(M)Range RTDs -50 to 250 C (-58 to 482 F)
• High(H) Range RTDs -50 to 500 C (-58 to 932 F)
• Full(F) Range RTDs -200 to 500 C (-328 to 932 F)

These RTD sensors are available in :

• Wire type flexible sensor
• Connection head type sensors
• Plug/socket type sensors

(*Available in Simplex (2/3 core) and Duplex (4/6 core) lead wire configuration)
In plain immersion type or with fixed instrument connection or with adjustable compression fittings.

SURFACE MOUNT TYPE RTD

These RTD ’s are available in straight assemblies with washer at the sensing tip to make direct surface contact. Used to detect temperatures in air, liquids, gases, and solids in a variety of process control applications. HK Surface Mount (washer) RTD ’s have a temperature range of -50 deg.C to 250 deg.C (-58 F to 482 F). these are enclosed in stainless steel(SS 316/ SS 304),with 3 core lead wire (Teflon/Teflon or Teflon fibre SS),termination or connection.

SANITARY RTD

HK sanitary RTD's are majorly designed for clean and hygienic industries such as food industries, pharmaceutical industries etc where hygiene is the primary concern. HK sanitary sensors, keeping in mind to the requirement of such hygienic industries are designed for a temperature range of -50 deg. C ~ 400 deg. C with class �A' accracy for minimal error in process measurement. These RTD's are enclosed in stainless steel sheath (SS 316) with triclover (used to replace a faulty sensor without disturbing the complete setup),terminated in :

• Fabricated stainless steel head (ss 316).

• With 3/6 core lead wire(teflon/teflon or teflon fibre ss),termination or connection available in simplex or duplex.

AUTOCLAVE RTD

	Used for medical equipment sterilization process done in autoclaves. HK Autoclave RTD sensors are recommended for a temperature range of 0 deg. C ~ 250 deg C. Availabe configuration : • simplex (2/3 wire) • duplex (4/6 wire) As a primary requirement,owing to the sterilization process, HK Autoclave RTD sensors are 100% sealed with silicon moulding handle(for grip) extended with Teflon / Silicon lead wire to avoid leakage.

PRICK RTD (MEAT PROBES)

	Prick rtd sensors(meat probes) majorly find their application in measurement of semisolid materials like rubber oasters,frozenfood,tyre and tread etc.hk prick rtd sensors(meat probes) are recommended for operational temperature range of -50 deg. C ~ 400 deg. C.

STATOR WINDING RTD

	Stator winding majorly find their application where we require continous temperature monitoring.hk stator winding rtds are widely used to monitor the winding temperature of electric motor(ac & dc) and ac generators (alternators).due to their various sizes and configurations these rtd's can be directly inserted in the motor winding or can be fitted in the stator slots.

BEARING RTD

	Bearing sensors are designed to be used in bearing shoes and will provide a reliable indication as to the bearing condition. This may offer an early warning of oil film breakdown and enable the machine to shutdown and prevent unnecessary damage.HK BEARING RTDS ARE AVAILABLE THE FOLLOWING CONFIGURATION : •Three-wire configuration •Pt100 element meets CLASS A OR Class B standards AS PER CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT. •Sensing Tip dimensions are 3.2 mm D x 8.0 mm L or 6.0mm D x 8.0 mm L-standard, but are also available as per customer requirement with M8 or ¼ “ BSP (M) thread plug •The operating range is -25°C to 250°C •The extension leads are 2 m / 3 m of 7/0.1mm dia TEFLON/Fg stainless steel braided. 3 wire - 2 colored WHITE and 1 colored RED. •Insulation resistance between hk bearing rtd wire leads and body is greater than 100 ohm.

	HKT provides a humidity+RTD sensor which finds its major aplication in industry where the humidity and temperature needs to be monitored like HVAC/building automation systems,food stores,health inspection agencies,warehouse mapping paper,textile,pharmaceutical etc.Our sensor have a range of 0~100% rH/-50 ~ 100 deg. C.HKT humidity+ RTD sensor are ergonomically designed and provided with a EBONITE handle to provide a better grip.
